Whats the name of the movie?

I think late 80's to early 90's. The two main characters were best friends a girl and guy, the girl was falling for him but he was trying to get with the popular girl in school...anyway the girl was a tom boy, her hair was cut real short too... there's one scene where she helps her bestie out by being limo driver so he could take the popular girl out...anyone just shout out names if you have an idea thanks :)
