Why is it only the fat unpopular girls who like Justin Bieber, Twilight etc.?

I've noticed that whenver you find a girl obsessed with something shitty like Justin Bieber or Twilight, they're always fat and unpopular. It's never the smart, attractive girls with lots of friends, always the outcasts. Why is this, why does this sort of crap attract the whales and gremlins?
