I know it's an extinct animal...but what is the Tasmanian Tiger more closely related to?

The thylacine was a marsupial so it is more closely related to all other marsupials than to any placental mammal. It was called a "tiger" because of the stripes on its back but it looked more like a dog. Its closest living relatives are the dasyurids, the carnivorous marsupials, - quolls, antechinus, phascogales, Tasmanian devils, dunnarts, planigales etc.
