Does anyone understand the A cards joke at the end of a Bugs bunny episode called Falling Hare?

At the end of the episode the plane almost crashes to the ground then the gremlin says sorry folks we ran out of gas and thats when Bugs bunny says ah you know how it is with these A cards...i just dont get it.
