Should the friendship really be ended over this?

A long time ago my friend and I agreed that we would go to prom together. We didn't have a group to go with so this worried me, but she ensured me WE would find a group to go with. Eventually she found out her other friend was getting a limo and she said she would ask if I could go with all of them. As prom got closer I would ask her everyday if she asked if I could go. I was starting to panic because I didn't have anyone to go with. She eventually told me she would go with them whether I do or not. This made me angry. She told me I should be grateful that she even asked for me to go (but this was after I asked her many times to ask them). I ended up calling her fake and telling her she never has to speak to me again. We haven't spoken in like 3 weeks. My mom drove me to prom alone to meet some other friends. We ignore each other now (Despite the fact our assigned seats are next to each other in a class). We have known each other for about 6 years now. Should the friendship be ended over this? Should I just wait to see if she attempts to mend the friendship? What should be done? I keep thinking about this. School ends in 3 weeks then we are off to separate colleges.
