1974 AMC GREMLIN For first car?

I found a 1974 AMC GREMLIN on ebay for a good price. I'm 15 and i will be 16 soon and have my license so im gonna get my first once i find one. I was thinking about getting this butt its from 1974. Will that seem super lame? Have any of you guys had this car? Whats it like? Does it have room for a sound system?
